As Safra
As Safra Project
Sierra Nevada Gold’s As Safra Project represents a district-scale copper–gold opportunity within the Arabian Shield, characterised by extensive historic workings and compelling modern exploration results. The project covers a mineralised corridor approximately 5.5 km in strike length, defined by widespread ancient mining activity and strong geochemical and geophysical signatures.
As Safra is interpreted as a large-scale intrusion-related copper–gold system, exhibiting classic metal zonation from a central copper–gold core through to peripheral silver–lead–zinc domains. High-grade surface sampling has returned exceptional results, including copper values exceeding 11% and gold grades up to 244 g/t, confirming the presence of a robust mineralised system. Mineralisation is closely associated with skarn alteration developed within reactive carbonate host rocks proximal to intrusive contacts, with widespread magnetite, garnet and wollastonite indicative of high-temperature fluid flow and strong prograde alteration. These features, combined with elevated bismuth–tellurium associations, provide important vectors toward high-grade feeder zones and sulphide-rich cores.
Ongoing exploration by SNX is integrating geochemistry with advanced geophysical techniques, including magnetics, gravity and induced polarisation (IP), to define sulphide-rich zones and potential feeder structures at depth. As Safra is positioned as a high-impact exploration project with the potential to deliver a significant copper–gold discovery within a globally emerging mining jurisdiction.
